These locking pins turned out to be an excellent fit for 2.5″ receivers, and with the included O-rings, they also adapt perfectly to 2″ receivers, which makes them surprisingly versatile. I was impressed by how well they function as pins inside a Gen-Y Mega Duty hitch designed for 2″ receivers—once a few of the O-rings are removed, they slide in smoothly and work exactly as needed. The build quality feels solid, and the installation process is straightforward, making them a convenient option for multiple towing setups. However, in my specific situation involving a 2.5″ receiver paired with the Gen-Y 2.5″ Mega Duty GH613 (rated at 21k), these pins unfortunately do not fit in the way I hoped. They aren’t long enough to secure the ball assembly or the pintle lock on the Gen-Y unit, which prevents the cotter pin hole from being fully exposed. They do, however, work perfectly for attaching the Gen-Y hitch itself to the truck, so they’re still useful in part of my setup. It’s clear that for the internal locking points on this particular Gen-Y model, a longer pin is required. I can’t fault the product for this mismatch—this part is entirely on me for not measuring before ordering. Despite this oversight, the pins themselves are high quality, functional, and reliable for the applications they’re designed to fit
